BUNDLE SKIRT

img_20161023_230113

Hi everyone,

It’s been a quite a while and guess what? I missed you all. This post is waaaaay waaay waay way overdue but oh well, let me just congratulate myself for the effort.

For this post we had something very simple but kinda-sorta matchy-matchy high-waisted skirts. For Qui(Wangui) she decided to go for a black and white stripped crop top and a statement neck piece (queen of jewellery) and I believe that looking at my previous post you can as well see that for yourself that jewellery and her are inseparable. As for me, I decided to have my long denim shirt since I am never rather barely comfortable in bodycon skirts or dresses without something long. So if anyone is always like me you can as well decide to wear it that way or even kimonos are an option. This reminds me that I do not own a kimono yet and I can’t wait to own one. Anyone feels so generous to lend me one? If you think you do, please slide to my DM and let’s talk about delivery nini ninis(lol). I had to finish this look with my very comfortable ngomas which give it a sportish feel but then again not really. All in all, comfort is the word for these whole look.

Before you enjoy the photos below, I have a quick question for you my dear reader. What do you wear, comfort or trend? As for me, its comfort. Your comment will be appreciated.

OUR KIND OF CASUAL

87

Happy new month loves,

Are you as positive and expectant  about this month as I am? I hope you are. Apparently there are many things to do this month and just remembered that this is the only month left then I open school.;-(

Anyway, so recently my friend and I had a photo shoot  with one of the amazing photographers I know. You can check out his work here and see for yourself. We wanted to have this for so long and finally we did. You don’t want to know how much stress we had just to figure out what to where. But, we decided to pick out casual outfits more like our go-to outfits.

For my friend, Qui, she decided to go for her LBD (little black dess) which I love because I find it flattering on her. It kinda defines her waist because it is well-fitting on the bust area then goes on as a circular dress. Do we still say circular though? I don’t know but you know what I mean, right? Haha! Then since the dress is plain, she wore a statement neck piece. I actually do call her the queen of jewelry because she really does have nice pieces. She is the kind when shopping she does consider what kind of jewelry will go with her outfit but as for me, I do not even remember to wear jewelry most of the time. So now you see we why we need such friends, ha!

Now for me, I decided to put together very simple pieces, a white top with black detailing and acid wash jeggings . As you can see, it’s just easy breezy vibe, nothing much.

Enjoy.

INSPIRATION

Anita Mwashi Reel-9029Hey there friends,

I know that my consistency is wanting but bear with me because lately I have been super busy and yet learning that as life continues, there will be different stages which means even more responsibilities so no excuses allowed because the truth is that we will never have enough time but I have to learn to create time which concludes that I have to learn to sacrifice. Though things are easier said than done. So dear reader, will you be my accountability partner? I know you will. Thanks. Ha!

Just a random question, Have you ever been asked those reflective questions that make you think about your life and what you have been doing with your life? An example of such a question may be ‘what is your inspiration for doing this and that?’(definitely the question is based on whatever you do e.g blogging). Personally,  I have been asked that queston by two different people at different times definitely and the first time I was asked that question I literally ran away from the person and the question too. As much as I ran away, this question was still bothering me, for a while though and then apparently I forgot about it.

Then recently someone else asked me the same question and I was wondering what to tell them because this time I could not run away. This person had no hurry it seemed (lol) waiting for an answer and all I said was that I did not know how to answer the question which was very honest of me. So I was told, whenever I am asked that question, I should create a problem that has never been there and just fix things and vualah, I will have answered the question. Come to think of it, that is very true but have I seen any error in the fashion blogging world? Oh yes I have! But is that really the reason that I am blogging? Is my reason to make a change in the fashion world at large? I don’t think so. So this gives me a challenge the more because we are created to be problem solvers and make an impact in whatever field we are.

So what would I say is my inspiration really? My passion for fashion. It may sound cliché but that is just it. I really loved the idea that one can share their style with the world through blogging though I am not so much of a writer. This was my reason I started one and seeing how others pulled through-the likes of Sharon MundiaJoy KendiNancie MwaiSilvia Njoki  and many more have really contributed too. Seeing their first posts on social media and how they started as they blogged one can say that they have really grown which is definitely been my motivating factor. They had humble beginnings and looking at them now, we can see and say as well that there has been major change. I remember when starting mine  I didn’t even know how to start one I had to ask someone who knew how to, so I was helped out and this is where I am now [talking as if I have made it(lol)]. I am not saying that I have made it really but what I mean is that I do not have to start with everything but as long as the vision is there, then resources will follow.

Challenge to me. What is my inspiration apart from my passion? I gotta figure that one out. Dear reader, what is your inspiration in whatever field you are in?  You can always share and let us know because this would encourage us. Once we figure this out, then this will help us become even better people in the society. Don’t you think so?

Till next time!

SIMPLICITY

Helo lovelies! hope you are great because I am thanks to your support.:* Is it me or have you noticed the weather is bipolar lately here in Nairobi? It even makes it kinda hard to chose what to wear but Oh well, I guess its time we, rather I quite complaining about this wonderful weather and let’s dress the weather instead;)

Another dress? Oh yes! Another dress because me and dresses are in a SERIOUS relationship. Ha! Crazy right? Actually I believe that my posts will be more about dresses than other outfits. Just kidding! I guess about my future posts eeerm… time will tell because this is fashion, you never know what there is in store for you, so keep hanging around this space.

Anyway, back to this simple black velvet dress which in my opinion is still perfect for this weather is what I would consider my go-to outfit for those days I have no time to pick on what to wear yet still want to look great. What I love about it is its simplicity and the detailing around the neckline which definitely gives it a fancy feel/vibe. Then to complete the look, I had to put on my heels which I would say are comfortable. Trust me if I can say they are comfortable, they really are! Aaaand if you want to, you can add a skinny belt for two reasons: to break the monotony and to have a more defined waist and I believe the latter would be your main reason ladies. Ha! I see you. You don’t want to know where mine(belt) was? Same old story! Those who have read my previous post know what I am talking about. If you haven’t, don’t worry, I have got you sorted. You can click here to see it.:)

So I would suggest this look to a simple dinner date and to church too. Where else would you suggest this simple but elegant look to? You can write your suggestions below but before that, enjoy.

ALL ABOUT THE DRESS

Anita Mwashi Reel-8902

Photography by felixielaurens

dress and shoes: stall in umoja

stockings: thirft

midrings by esmerizeaccessories

Hey yáll, hoping your week has been great or even greater than mine despite the cold rainy weather in Nairobi or is it like this in every part of this country( Kenya)? We will only know this if we share this post all over and get comments from every county to get the answers ryh?hehe. Anyways, as you can see, I am trynna keep up with my posting and this is a proof, isn’t it? Yeah… I know.(I had to answer myself.hehe)

Sooooo for those who have been in this space remember that in my previous post which just incase you missed out is HERE, I had said that I would tell you my reason for changing my way of blogging and so what made me change it was that I realised that having images of my personal style would be a much better way of conveying my message rather than just talking about it and more so, don’t just photos bring life?

Can we now talk about this dress? I love, love, looove this dress and everything about it because one, it is a skater dress. This dresses bring out the chic look and feel and my opinion is that they should be a ‘must-have’ in a lady’s closet. My other reason is the pattern and color on this dress. There is just something about the two that makes this dress to die for. Need I say more?

Funny thing is that i do pair this outfit the exact the same way normally so this is not just a photoshoot thing. Yes…from the stockings, to the doll shoes though sad thing is that i forgot my black slim belt on that day which is necessary to break the monotony of the color and you can as well wear something on top that suites you and is still stylish just incase the weather does not allow you to free your arms like the weather today. But otherwise do enjoy the rest of the photos and i will keep you posted for the next one. SO DO NOT CLOSE THIS TAB 🙂Anita Mwashi Reel-8947Anita Mwashi Reel-8968Anita Mwashi Reel-8975Anita Mwashi Reel-8918

NEW BLOG ALERT

dress ands shoes: diamond shopping mall

Hello hello hello. Oh my..where should i even start..should it be HAPPY NEW YEAR? Or HAPPY MADARAKA DAY that was a lil bit recent or HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all mothers out there as well as potential mothers? I do not even know where to start my people. Its been a while and I know yáll been wondering where I went to rather what happened to my blog. Well, I am here to testify and say that it’s here to stay rather I am here to stay or should we just ignore that part because point is I am back and hope that next time it will not take that much time for me to post. It took me almost a year to post this.

I think it would be courteous of me to first say  where I have been and what I have been doing. Sooo, lets just say that school happened and life happened as well hehe… but truth is, when I started blogging, I really did not think that it would demand that much time, creativity, money…should I repeat that…MONEY..Loooord…. yes! Should we even talk about how these photographers are expensive? Anyway but sooner than later Godwilling this will no longer be an issue.

Did I just mention a photographer? Kinda spilled the beans but anyway because I love you guys that much, I have decided to tell you guys about my “new way” of blogging. It is in quotes because it is not really new but it is different from the one that was before which was just simply writing. My reason for the change I will tell you on my next post so stay alert no wonder the name ‘NEW BLOG ALERT’  lol.

Thank you for being patient with me.

I love you all but remember that God loves you more.

WHY LOOK GOOD EVERYDAY!

IMG-20141014-WA0001

that’s me

Hey there,I am back to do my emphasis again. Well, do you remember those days we used to wear our best clothes on Sundays and during occasions for example on Christmas and other special ones? Personally i do remember and i was a victim too. I had that mentality that one dresses well only on certain days until recently.

Anyway, I know you may be wondering what my point could be. My point is that we should change that mentality too for those who still have it. Times have changed and like one in a thousand (that’s a guess not a statistic) probably follow such staff. This is because now I  know that one needs not to wait for such days to look good.

Three reasons as to why one should look good everyday.

1. First impression matters.

You never know who you might meet up with and at times you never know what a day holds for you so its safer when you are ‘prepared’ if I may put it that way because no one ever wants to present themselves in a way they are not comfortable in. The way you dress and generally look will always tell what kind of person you are.

2. Looking good gives you confidence.

As simple as it is. There is this feeling one gets when looking good, sort of satisfaction. That is what is called confidence.

3. You deserve to look at your best.

If you were to forget everything about this post I would urge you not to forget this last point, that you deserve to look at your best.

Everything is simple today and does not need much explanation. With my previous post on what to know about dressing should help you pull through this. It’s not thaaaaat easy cause it easier said than done but we can do it together.

Your feedback will be appreciated.

God bless.

ANITA MWASHI.
